Hip-Hop Kings Interview –
HHK: I appreciate you speaking to us Supar Novar. For the international readers can we have an introduction please?
Supar Novar: I’m a rap artist from North London, England, UK. I been involved in the UK scene for about 10 years and I’m still here.
HHK: You’ve recently released the free mixtape N To Tha Izzo. What gave you inspiration to use 100% Jay-Z instrumentals for the mixtape? And what are your thoughts on Blueprint 3?
Rago Magazine Interview – I’m slippin with dis 1 it’s been up for a while just realised I never posted it –
Supar Novar is a British rapper who’s always delivered the goods. His debut album ‘From The Beginning’ on Kemet Records is a certified Hip-Hop classic that led to him winning awards and featuring in numerous music videos. A couple of years ago he teamed up with Tricksta & UK Runnings for a superb mixtape, now in 2009 he is back. Rago Magazine sent Brendan Deane to London to get all the latest from this excellent talented recording artist and performer…
Hi Nova, hope your good. You’ve just dropped your new mixtape which is all over Jay-Z beats. What was the inspiration for doing this?
Basically I did a freestyle type track over Jay-Z’s public service announcement a while back where I flipped his lyrics to include my name like ‘allow me to re-introduce myself my name is Nov’s, N to the O V…’ and my boy Snail suggested I do a whole mixtape cos there’s so many tracks I can flip like that. At first I weren’t really on the idea but then I decided to go with it a couple years later.
AND DONT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD THE MIXTAPE HERE
